It's almost Christmas 🎄

We've had a fantastic term at the After School Klubs about the Bible (as well as the lunchtime clubs and After Supper Klub). During the last few weeks we've been finding out all about the Christmas tree and what some of the things on it remind us of.

Craft time is always a lot of fun and we had lots of different crafts at all the clubs.

We found out about the angel telling Mary and Joseph that a baby, who would be the Son of God, was on the way and how the shepherds got the good news that the Saviour had been born. The star at the top of the tree reminds us about the wise men who probably came a bit later than the shepherds.

The lights remind us that Jesus said he was the light of the world and the evergreen branches show us that God's love for us never changes. The sharp pine needles also make us remember that the baby Jesus grew to be the man who was given a crown of thorns and was nailed to a different kind of tree - the cross at Calvary.

At this time of year it's exciting to get gifts. The Bible tells us about the amazing gift that God offers us - the gift of eternal life if we choose to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. That really is the best gift, not just ever but FOREVER.

The great story of the Candymaker's gift for his granddaughter was our story one week. To help with the story I took along a giant candy cane. I've been waiting for weeks now to be able to open it and put it into a big mug of hot white chocolate then sit down to enjoy a Christmas movie! Well all the assemblies and clubs are finished for Christmas now so as I wish you all a very happy Christmas I'm away to heat the milk and look out the Santa slippers 🎄🎅🏻🎬🥛

Enjoy the Christmas holidays and if you are free on Christmas Eve there is a Family Carol Service in York Street Hall, just up from the Hawco garage. It starts at 6.30pm for about an hour so you'll still be home in plenty of time to put out the milk, cookies and Rudolph's carrott before putting the children to bed. It'll be brilliant to see you there if you can make it.

Thank you to all of you who have sent your children along and to everyone who has helped in any way at the clubs. Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing the children again at the clubs in January 2017.
